Yard Operative – Barnsley
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a family run business based in Barnsley.
You will be taken under the wing of experts within the Metal Recycling industry offering support and training to ensure you have a successful, long-term career within their family run business.

£10.90 per hour (rising to £12 per hour after probation period)

Role responsibilities:
Stripping down and sorting a variety of metals, raw materials and electrical cables
Using tools such as grinders, saws and alligator shears to prepare materials for recycling
Dismantling transformers, switch gears and gas units
Separating a variety of materials in a non-ferrous area
Degassing units
Loading and unloading materials from vehicles
Ensure the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times
Adhering to company procedures and health and safety standards at all time.
Various other duties may be required once fully trained
Role requirements:
Successful candidates MUST be looking for a long-term career.
Candidates must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
Candidate must be fit and healthy due to the physical demands of the role
Previous experience within a similar role is beneficial but not essential.
Experience using FLT/Overhead Cranes advantageous but not a necessity.
Candidates must be willing to complete regular drugs and alcohol tests.
