Teaching assistant required in Barnsley.

Tradewind are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join a fantastic school in Barnsley. This is a long-term role, starting immediately, and will involve working with children of all ages and abilities.

The successful teaching assistant will be responsible for supporting teachers in the classroom and providing one-to-one and group support for children who may have special educational needs (SEN). This may include working with children who have difficulty with reading and writing, as well as those who have behavioural or emotional issues.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and has a positive attitude. You should be able to work well under pressure and be able to multitask. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in a similar role and/or experience working with SEN children is an advantage but is not essential.

Essential requirements:

DBS on the update system.
Legal right to work in the UK.
Relevant professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting teachers in the classroom by helping to prepare materials and resources
Providing one-to-one and group support for children who have SEN
Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Assisting with the planning and delivery of activities and lessons
Managing behaviour and ensuring the safety of all children
Supporting children with their academic and personal development

Key Requirements:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Positive attitude and passion for working with children
Ability to multitask and work independently
Ability to work as part of a team
