Barnsley Council are seeking a Senior Performance and Intelligence Officer. The role is 37 hours, permanent In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £38,296 – £41,496 per annum.
The Senior Performance and Intelligence Officer role:
The Core Business Improvement (BI) Team is recruiting! We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and experienced individual to join our team. The role will provide the focal point for our wide-ranging customers across the council and partnerships. You will be the face of BI, challenging, advising, and providing key intelligence and performance products to help shape and drive continuous change and improvement across the directorates.
Responsibilites of our Senior Performance and Intelligence Officer:
Lead, develop and manage a team of Performance & Intelligence Officers and relevant Business Intelligence Support Officers
Lead the ongoing development and delivery of the Council’s performance and intelligence analytical products to ensure services can provide their customers with a high performing, performance, insight and intelligence led service offer
To lead on the completion and submission of statutory returns and support services to respond to FOI requests
Implement the Council’s Data Management Policy and Framework within all areas of work
Set measurable performance objectives and monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria. • Lead the Initiation, development, and monitoring of effective performance management processes
Promote the work of the team both with the organisation and externally, sharing best practice and building networks to ensure opportunities for partnership working are established
Apply advanced analytical development techniques to identify and produce key findings and judgements in assessments
Lead the Identification of new and emerging issues and make recommendations to inform proactive decision-making and assist senior managers in the commitment of resources and directing business activity to meet future demands
Lead and drive the continuous review, improvement and evaluation of the service provision ensuring the use of effective available resources to ensure fit for purpose well managed performance and analytical solutions
Keep abreast of local and national developments within SME, to enhance the service accordingly and to satisfy internal and external demands, and proactively disseminate relevant information to team members and colleagues
Find, present, communicate and disseminate outputs effectively and with high impact through creative storytelling, tailoring the message for the audience
Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Senior Performance and Intelligence Officer:
Willingness to undertake the Councils Leadership Programme
Level 6 degree / diploma or equivalent in a related discipline
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience of promoting positive team working and demonstrating distributed leadership
Experience of managing relationships and presenting information to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
Substantial experience of data analysis and the production of complex management information and reports
Substantial experience of undertaking research, analysis and interpretation of data and information
