Location: Barnsley Start date: Immediate Contract type: Long term Job type: Full time Schedule: Mon- Fri Salary: £(Apply online only) per day Leader Education is currently recruiting for an experienced SEN teacher for an SEMH specialist school in Barnsley. This school provides education to both primary and secondary school students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. This schools also work in partnership with other local primary and secondary schools to offer alternative education pathways to students who need additional support. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with children and students with additional needs in a school setting. The job: Provide support to students with SEMH needs in a small group or 1-1 setting You will be an inspiring educator with excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills. You will offer empathy and understanding to your learners needs Experience of working with students with SEMH – previously known as EBD, BESD, SEBD Team Teach trained would be beneficial although this training can be provided for free Help students meet the objectives in their education and health care plans Support students in managing and regulating their feelings Ensure the best quality of education for each pupil Help create and maintain a secure and happy atmosphere Engage with the students throughout their learning whilst in the classroom Model and nurture positive relationships and strong partnerships Liaising with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes.You: Have experience of working with children/students with SEMH needs Are patient, sensitive and compassionate Are understanding and have empathy Have a passion for teaching and learning Ability to make learning enjoyable and fun Ideally Team Teach trained but not essential – free training is available Are motivated and enthusiastic Have great communication skills Have a fun but firm presence.Leader Education can offer: Competitive pay rates: £140 – £200 per day Refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme: £100 per referral (terms apply) Free CPD including Team Teach A dedicated consultant to answer any queries and for ongoing support Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period Staff socialsIf you have the above skills and believe you are a great match for the role, please apply now.
