About the role
Barnsley Recovery Steps is an integrated drug and alcohol service that offers a range of innovative, free, confidential, and non-judgemental services for adults aged 18+ whose lives are affected by drugs and/or alcohol.
As a Recovery Navigator in our Community Team, you’ll be working with, and motivating individuals accessing our service to guide and empower them throughout their recovery journey. Our service welcomes people at any stage in their journey, and through a comprehensive assessment will develop an individualised plan of support which can span from harm reduction, peer support, structured interventions, medical interventions, appropriate signposting/onward referral, and group work.
In this role working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, day-to-day duties will involve you delivering a range of interventions including recovery planning, risk assessment and risk management planning and structured 1:1 work. You’ll also be required to liaise effectively with partnership agencies to ensure continuity of care, minimise risk and support access to other appropriate services.
We are looking for a passionate, motivated individual to join our team that believes in people and wants to make a difference. You’ll hold some transferable skills, ideally from working in a similar environment or sector.
You’ll be keen to develop professionally and, just as importantly, will have a genuine interest in understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive recovery-focused attitude.
