We are currently recruiting for a newly created position of National Account Manager. The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for managing assigned merchant channel national accounts from both a central head office and regional operating level prospective. You will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the company-wide business development initiatives and for nurturing and developing relationships with our clients and colleagues.

National Account Manager. Role Overview

Drive a profitable, sustainable and above market sales growth and contribution to achieve the annual operating plan (AOP) for all aspects of accountabilities for your assigned accounts

Act as and represent the organization as a merchant national account lead and be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies as defined by the interior sales lead and commercial leadership team

Set, monitor and deliver budgeted sales in terms of volume, mix, margin and EBITDA

Build and maintain strong, long lasting mutually beneficial customer relationships at merchant channel level including category, procurement and operational teams

Negotiate and implement price movements where required

Negotiate and implement trading term agreements on a yearly basis (or as required)

Collect and analyse sales data and trends to identify opportunities or shortfalls

Work with the company CRM system to maximize efficiencies and provide the best customer experience

Provide accurate feedback on merchant channel forecast demand (monthly, quarterly and annually) to the Head of National Accounts

Manage strategic product and marketing development programs (in conjunction with product and marketing teams) to enhance sales opportunities

Ad-hoc head office or regional reporting requirements – price files / sales reporting / controlling the communication of QC specs / information gathering and communication

About you!

Excellent client facing experience with strong influencing and negotiating skills

Able to demonstrate a direct, open, charismatic and convincing communication style with the ability to influence at all levels

Evidence of working to demanding goals and targets

Demonstrable, clear career progression and a track record of success in sales

Ability to make decisions based on data

Hand on experience with CRM and MS Excel

Experience in previous National Account Management roles

Experience dealing with high level customer stakeholders
