HR Officer – Reed – Barnsley


We are currently recruiting a HR Officer on behalf of our public sector client. You will be responsible for the provision of a people-centred service to internal and external customers, including professional advice and guidance on a variety of HR and organisational matters, and provide administrative support to the team.

Hours of work – Full-time (36.2 hours per week) working Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00

Main duties:

Assist with the provision of professional advice and guidance to customers on the interpretation of policies and procedures, terms and conditions and good practice guidance

Assist with updating existing policies and procedures taking into account legislative requirements, regulations and good practice

Ensure the timely completion of all documentation/ e-forms in respect of associated policies and procedures in a timely manner

Keep up to date with changes in legislation, providing briefing notes and researching developments and options

Develop and maintain a variety of data and information using electronic systems including undertaking data analysis and manipulation

Develop and maintain effective working relations with Trade Unions, Stakeholders, and customers

Personal spec:

Experience of providing first line advice and guidance

Experience of analysing and manipulating data

Excellent customer service skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft applications

Able to effectively prioritise and manage your workload

Able to communicate effectively in a variety of ways with a wide range of people at all levels
