Michael Page Logistics are delighted to be partnered with a national retailer, looking for a Head of Logistics and Distribution for their operation based in Barnsley.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for the Head of Logistics and Distribution include;

End to end leadership of Logistics and Warehouse function
* Sound knowledge of Warehouse functions to include Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Management, Logistics, Trade Compliance, HSE, Facilities & Maintenance
* Working closely with Internal teams to manage the inventory of finished goods at levels balanced against customer service needs and financial targets
* Provide strategic leadership of all Warehouse and Logistics functions
* Ensure all activities are carried out to appropriate regulatory standards
* Exhibit a pro-active approach in co-ordinating with other functions and organisations as required
* Oversee improvement programmes involving operational functions
* Continuously drive and deliver improvement across service, quality, safety and cost
* Implement best practice warehouse management design to optimize space and maximize
productivity
* Implementing, communicating, and managing KPIs across each function

The Successful Applicant

Degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience

Strong Leadership experience in a Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain environment with strong experience in supply to retail

Ideally CPC qualified (International)

Significant experience of leading large teams

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and mentor colleagues of all levels

Experience of operating at a senior level with international responsibility

Experience of developing and successfully implementing strategic plans
