Electrical Design Engineer – company name – Barnsley

WINNER are currently supporting an production manufacturing company with the recruitment of their Electrical Design Engineer, this role will be based in Barnsley.

As a Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for creating accurate electrical designs and drawings (including bill of materials) for suppliers to manufacture electrical assemblies which comply with CE regulations and operate internally designed and manufactured products. The candidate should have strong practical experience and ability to conduct peer to peer training.

The duties of the Electrical Design Engineer will be:

Using specialist software and other resources to design the systems required for projects.
Prepare accurate fit for purpose technical designs to both internal and external customers in accordance with CE regulations.
Prepare all necessary design documentation and drawings, including bill of materials in conjunction with the purchasing department.
Proactively liaise with all stakeholders to ensure that any risks to the successful right first-time delivery are prevented or an appropriate and timely solution is achieved.
Develop an in-house process for the electrical testing of final product, including associated documentation.
To closely coordinate with external suppliers to ensure designs are manufactured within specification and on time.
Analyse pre-existing systems and make improvements for either efficiency or cost reduction.
Support the operational team with technical and industry knowledge to enhance electrical capability internally and ensure successful delivery.
Development, creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Practices and associated documentation.
Ensure that all the Policies and procedures are adhered to as specified within the ISO Quality manual.
Any other duties within the capabilities and training of the individual in line with the needs of the company.
To attend training organised by the company in-house or off-site.
To maintain confidentiality regarding the company finances, plans, products, suppliers, customers, designs, manufacturing processes during and subsequent to termination.
At all times to present the professional image in line with company standards.
All duties to be carried out utilising safe working methods and appropriate PPE, with due regard to the Health and Safety, COSHH and other relevant legislation
The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have:

Educated to a degree (or equivalent) standard in Electrical Engineering & experience in electrical design/control systems. Good working knowledge of AutoCAD electrical and PLC Program.
Have previously held responsibility for ensuring compliance to CE Regulations
Good problem solving and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Team player.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Problem Solver.
Quality Focused.
The salary for the Electrical Design Engineer is £30,(Apply online only) – £36,(Apply online only) per annum

The working hours for this role would be Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
