CNC Machinist
Role Description
Setting and operating of CNC machines for the manufacture of glass container components
Key responsibilities
• Identify programming requirements to manufacture relevant components. Check all parameters prior to machining.
• Input programming data in line with drawing requirements.
• Ensure all cutting tools are to required specification. Setting of fixtures and vices.
• Load component into machine using best practice Health and safety lifting techniques
• Machine relevant component to the required specification from drawings provided.
• Perform lathe work
• Carry out milling, drilling and grinding on mould equipment to ensure that specifications are met
• Check all key features using measuring equipment to ensure component is manufactured to required tolerances
• Unload components from machines using best practice in line with health and safety regulations
• Record all key dimensions electronically and written in line with quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
Apprentice trained Mechanical Craftsman
Good working knowledge of CNC machines & program terminology.
Understanding of drawings relating to component manufacture.
Ability to work on CNC machines
• Set Up
• Operate
• Adjust
• Diagnose Faults (CNC programs)
Ability to program CNC machines (an advantage)
What we offer
Competitive salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Minimum of the grade £28,000, maximum of the grade £33,979 (shift dependant)
