About the role

A ‘Excellent’ specialist SEND provision in Barnsley are looking to appoint a Classroom Support Assistant to work full time or part time with SEND pupils including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language Difficulties. As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to guide students in managing their emotions and working towards their targets.

This SEND School based in Barnsley is a special school educating children and young people aged 3-19 with severe and complex needs.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Classroom Support Assistant you will:

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
  • A passion for the progress of SEND primary and secondary school pupils
  • Be engaging, resilient and able to work on own initiative
  • Moving handling, hoist training desirable but not essential, training will be provided
  • Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • 3 months experience working within, children young adults or adults with learning disabilities

All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
